Hot Wheels 2019 line is hot and even the mainline cars are super hot and making collector go crazy, one of them is “16 Bugatti Chiron” in blue. Though a mainline Hot Wheels, this Bugatti Chiron is relatively rare and collector all over the world is having tough time finding one in pegs. Ebay is filled with listing of this Bugatti Chiron going for as $10 or some even more, which is crazy! I found some 3 in pegs and thought I will do a diecast car review of this much sorted 1:64 Hot Wheels of 2019. I am also giving away one Bugatti Chiron free, so watch out for it!
Lets start with the story… I am not a big time Hot Wheels collector, I am into 1:18 scale cars and 1:12 car but sometimes I pick my hearts desire. Thats how I started Hot Wheels collection and after over 10year I have around 300 in my collection and this Chiron is the most sorted to date! I got this by luck not just once but twice, first time got one from Big Bazaar and the second time from Hamleys.
I am mostly a carded collector (only Hot Wheels) and this Bugatti Chiron is one of the few that got its freedom. The card art is that one thing I like the most about Hot Wheels so I make a precise cut along the seam giving me option to store them without damaging them. This card is sleek and in very good shape, the graphics is also very nice of the real Bugatti Chiron.
Usually unboxing gives me an exhilarating feel but with Hot Wheels its a depressing(thanks to blister packaging), so I usually take two of those model, who deserves to see real life. This year Hot Wheels was generous enough to give us some cool cars and this Bugatti Chiron is one of them.
Any diecast car review starts with a front of the car but this time around I though let me start with pros and go backward to cons. The strongest point of Hot Wheels car is its profile and this Chiron does it exceptionally well. This Bugatti Chiron comes in dark blue paint finish with a silver accent line running through its body, this accent line is done well too.
This Bugatti Chiron’s cast is one of the best of this year and the paint finish enhances it every bit. The paint is a kind of metal flake finish, which shines under bright light. The frontend also gets a sleek grill with a small Bugatti Logo, which though a not readable but matches the font and color.
This Bugatti Chiron comes with the engine bay and a exposed engine cover. The interiors of this Bugatti is cool and the slightly tinted windows exposes it quite well on closer inspection.
This Bugatti comes loaded with J5 wheels, which elevates the look of this exotic car but I prefer MC5 because it give a bit of Europen touch to this car. The rear end gets all black plastic detailing, which included tail lamp section, license plate and twin exhausts.
Now comes the issues… The biggest drawback of this Bugatti is the details! The headlamp and taillights don’t get any paint finish making this Chiron suffer big time and pulling the rating down drastically. The black plastic rear end is detailed but lack of painting kills it totally.
This Hot Wheels 16 Bugatti Chiron comes with diecast body and plastic base. It weights only 31grams, which is bit a bit less for a solid model like this even my other Porsche 934 Turbo RSR from 2018 is 35grams. The weight of this Bugatti also played an important role, adversely of course.
Just to bring in some perspective I brought in my favorite Audi RS 5 Coupe, which I love like crazy in this bright red shade. Now with some competition this Bugatti starts to slide down, this Audi is a competitive cast too but it takes down this big gun Bugatti Chiron purely because of attention to details.
I am car photographer first and a diecast car collector next, so I love photography of car and this Chiron loves to be photographed in some wonderful outdoor setting. Here you go my best ever 1:64 photo collection with this super hype and a decent outdoor photography subject.
Before I wrap up this review, I wanted to share that giveaway that I promised earlier… Yes I have three and I am planning to giveaway one of that carded Bugatti Chiron. Its relatively simple, visit my FB page (xDiecast) like and follow it, share this post(of the giveaway) in your timeline, tag 5 of your fiends and comment why you want this beautiful Bugatti Chiron.
Finally its rating time… This Chiron gets high score in “Casting”, “Paint Finish” and “Stance” but loses out on “Fine Details” like the headlamp and taillight details and super light weight build quality. So the overall score is a decent 3.5/5. I am planning to a bit of detailing like adding(drawing headlamps and taillight) to this beauty and try my best to get it to its place! Overall a good car to own but not a great one! Till next time, Ciao.
Very well explained… Love the photography too..
Cheers
