Mercedes-Benz Unimog are multi purpose all wheel drive medium weight trucks that are designed and produced for conquering tough terrain. It comes in many body styles ranging from full blown rack crawler to a subtle people carrier.. Its major advantage comes from its ground clearance via y portal gears that allow the axles and transmission to be higher than the tires’ centers. This is a legend in terms of off roading machines concerns. So how come we diecast collectors skip such a monster in our collection. Right now Exoto made Hummer H1 is the largest in my collection but if this Unimog is added then it will rule that spot unchallenged for quite some time.

This Unimog U5000 wagon is made by GLM-Models who makes some fine sample of resin models that hold some legendary value. Being a 1:18 scale this is expected to be massive that makes package an issue and shipping is going to burn a hole to. I am a big time SUV lover and always thought this Unimog is one of the ugliest of them all but it is growing on me, thanks to its massive proportions that just intimidates everything else. The details on this model is cool and I personally like the proportion and the fine details like the grill mesh, optics, turn signals etc. Those massive tires are its biggest attraction factor(I personally fell for it!).
- This Mercedes-Benz Unimog Wagon U5000 is a resign model and that makes it awesome for few and bad for other few! Because it is resign the detail are exceptional and the shutline are as perfect as it gets. And diecast collectors hate resin model because it lacks the weight quotient and misses out on some functionality like the doors, engine details etc. I am in category two but will not mind this beast in my collection.
The model is expected to available by the end of this year and should be yours for around €340 mark. Being a limited edition model and a hot one that every offroad lover would like to own… you better pre-order to avoid disappointment! There are many online/offline vendors accepting pre-orders and here is my catch www.carmodel.com who is charging €324.95 and they have stipulated release date of 31 Dec! This model is massive and totally justifies the price!! I will sure buy one for my collection and thinking of break opening that piggy bank that I am holding for my next car! Ciao.
