Top Gun is one great movie especially if you are into air crafts and fighter jets. I grew up watching this movie again and again till the VCR tape (Yes I am from VCR time) lost all the data in them. Every time I watch this movie I feel like those jet blast wiping me out my couch! Apart from those Jets and Tom Cruse, Maverick’s Kawasaki GPZ900R is also a star! Yeah the bike that Tom Cruse rides and even races a F14 Tomcat.
We collector love having movie memorabilia so this bike should take top spot even in 1:12 scale miniature model. So after craveing for 30years this miniature bike is seeing light, thanks to TSM Model for bring in this Kawasaki GPZ900R in 1:12 scale. TSM Model is known for doing exceptional resin car and they recently jumped in 1:12 and their 1:12 scale Ducati 1299 Panigale and 1:12 Ducati Scrambler Icon and are doing well!
Coming back to this 1:12 Maverick’s Kawasaki GPZ900R, this is the bike that comes with hell a lot of heritage and paved way to all those modern bikes. So TSM Model have put in some fine details just like its four wheeled counter-parts! This Kawasaki comes in that trademark black and red paint scheme with some sticker jobs.
Further talking about the fine detail, we will have to talk about the brake caliper and the drilled disc along with fluid piping. The tire also comes deep tread which gives some premium feel. This Maverick’s Kawasaki GPZ900R also comes detailed meter dials along with telltale lamps. What I don’t like is the fuel cap, the clip-on handlebar and key york.
Going with the photos that TSM Model have shared in their website, the optics are also nice! The head lamp is nice, the turn indicator finished in semi transparent orange is accurate(even the one in the side fender) and finally the tail lamp looks exceptional. Even the decals that this Maverick’s Kawasaki GPZ900R comes with are accurate and readable in that size… Kudos TSM Model.
This 1:12 Maverick’s Kawasaki GPZ900R is available for pre-order from TSM’s official web store and also from multiple vendors! And the pre-order price is $125/- which is cool taking into account their heritage and a blockbuster movie background like Top Gun. As per TSM model their is no release dates but some vendors are promising that this will be out for grabs by August this year, which by the way is great news. What is your thoughts? Does this diecast Kawasaki GPZ900R is worth $125? Drop you thoughts in the comments section below. Till next time, Ciao.
