Matchbox officially re-entered Indian market and we got quite a collection in basic, super fast, moving parts and also some working rigs and convoy. Though we din’t get all the cases like in US markets, some good cases made it to our shore! I managed to get some a good cars and SUVs from Matchbox line-up and here is my “Top 10 Matchbox of 2020” from my collection. Because my Matchbox collection is not that big, I put Basics and premiums like Moving Parts and Superfast into a single list. This is my personal favourites not a generalised list in any form… Lets get started… Shall we?
Before we get into the real list, let’s meet our notable mention, which is nothing but the brand new Tesla Semi from Convoy series. They actually released two Tesla semis, the black truck came with a Tesla branded trailer and Model S car. Later this year a white truck was released, which came with a pipe carrier and front loader. I have them both and love the one first release truck in black more, which is also my pick for this worthy note.
Audi R8: At number 10, we have Audi R8 (MBX City 29/100) in deep grey and chrome ring wheels. Though this is not a brand new cast, this is my first Audi R8 and I absolutely love it to core. I fell in love immediately on first sight and it lives with me for ever. What I like about this cast and most other MBX is the deep details like front and rear decals.
2015 Jaguar F-Type Coupe: Standing at number 9, this 2015 Jaguar F-Type Coupe (MBX Highway 52/100) looks cool in blue and chrome wheels a perfect match I would say. I got this Jag towards the end of the year, when it made it to our store… I took a couple of extras as I wanted one loose and few carded!
2018 Jeep Wrangler JL: Taking the 8th spot is my hot favorite Jeep Wrangler(MBX Jungle 64/100) with JL badge! I love big brute SUVs and Jeeps top the list of my favourites! I been eyeing MBX Jeep for as long I could remember and finally this year I came into our shore and I snatched a few(guess around 5) just in case! Only reason for this beast sitting low is its front/rear decals! I may do some detailing to elevate this flaw, lets see how it goes!
2015 Mercedes-Benz G550: Just like Jeep Wrangler, I like Mercedes G-Class Wagons and this 2015 Mercedes-Benz G 550(MBX Highway 49/100) takes all the right boxes, so without any second thought I picked and bagged it! The only flaw I see with this Merc is the paint job, which is a bit too girly for my liking! May try some paint mods in the coming years.
2014 Range Rover Evoque: Yeah RR Evoque(MBX City 31/100) takes the 6th place in my list of “Top 10” and this is a hot one! The Evoque in this hot red is a looker, the details like the front and rear decals are super clean and sharp. Wheels and stance are super perfect so this guy gets a highest position in this list.
Jeep Wrangler Rollbar (18#): At 5th place I have Jeep Wrangler Rollbar(MBX Jungle 72/100) carrying Jurassic Park livery. As a kid I love the Jurassic Park to the core and gave me a lot of sleepless nights, so this Jeep reminds me of my childhood days, so has a special place in this list! This Jeep also suffers the same flaw as the JL but this gets side decals so I gave him a higher position.
2019 Ford Ranger: All top places are taken by premium Matchbox casts and at number 4 is the 2019 Ford Ranger in matte grey graced with “Skyjacker” decals and camouflage graphics. This being a part of Moving Parts, comes with opening hood and trunk. I am not a big fan of opening feature but the cast is just awesome, so I picked it! I may also do some mods to the graphics soon as the body is just cool!
Mercedes Benz G63 AMG 6X6: The Mercedes Benz G63 AMG 6X6 in general is a cool looking SUV, which has a road presence to stand out! The same is true for this Matchbox Mercedes Benz G63 AMG 6X6 released under “Superfast” branding. This is almost a perfect cast to take the first place, only factor that pulled him down is the scaling and this menacing SUV looks dwarfed even next to some sedans by MBX.
Land Rover Vogue SE: The gap between this Land Rover Vogue SE and the Mercedes Benz G63 AMG 6X6 very less and the scaling factor is the only deciding factor. This Land Rover Vogue SE is also a part of “Moving Parts” and comes with opening tail gate, but that gimmick feature dint turn me on but the head lamp and tail lamp detailing did.
Lamborghini Centenario: Taking the top spot is the most sorted and rare Lamborghini Centenario from 2020 Moving Parts. This Centenario comes in black with yellow highlights as the real concept, being a part moving parts series its doors open and they open wide just like the real car!
