Mattel creates million of cars every day and its not just kids but also adult collectors go bananas when a new set of Hot Wheels shows up I pegs. Though Mattel has an array of brand licenses like Mercedes AMG, BMW, Lamborghini, Pagani, McLaren and more, seasoned collectors like me miss those Ferrari that graced our shelves and those orange tracks. 2014 Mattel lost Ferrari license and since then collectors of all ages are waiting for a comeback from Mattel.
What Mattel got Ferrari License? Yes! Finally the good news surfaced in the form of an announcement from Ferrari in Nuremberg International Toy Fair few hours back. This was further confirmed by an email signup page Mattel Creation website in bright red color with the statement “TWO ICONIC BRANDS. RUNITED.” This is a clear indication for us collectors what we can expect. Yeah now we no longer need to rely on resellers to own a Mattel Hotwheels Ferrari. That’s one great news of this year, so if you want to know what’s lined up from this colouration don’t forget to signup.
So when is the first Mattel Hot Wheel Ferrari Expected? From what we know from so far is the first set of Mattel Ferrari will come out as early as this spring, which may include those 1$ mainlines, to those ultra-premiums and also RC vehicles. Yeah we expect Mattel to release at least one RLC with a classic Ferrari badge on it to celebrate this association. What do you say?
How about 1:18? 1:43? 1:24? and likes? As of now we have very limited insight on this breaking news but we assume Bburago will continue to produce diecast Ferrari models in above scales as their 2025 catalogue is filled quite a collection of Ferrari car from both street and racing scene. So if you are a Bburago fanboy like me, then you are safe for now and Hot Wheels 1:18 scale car collector have to hold on a bit long for more update on this.
So what would you like to see coming out of Hot Wheels line? I love scale model car not matter which brand makes it so for me seeing Ferrari badge in Mattel products is not a big deal. That been said, I love Hot Wheels cars mostly for their beautiful card art and some great playability so I would want to see some racing machine and my personal favourite would be this 499B Le Mans car… I got so excited I pushed my self to create a celebration card to celebrate this colouration! What do you think?
Overall Mattel getting Ferrari license if a great news for car lovers around the world and this calls for celebration if you are a part of that Hot Wheels Collectors community. In the next few weeks/months we will get more infos on model, price point and and even supply chain detail from both parties. So you stay connected and we will get those news when and where they break. Till next time Ciao.
