STR Viper GTS Coupe 2013 – Maisto

The SRT Viper is a V10-powered sports car, manufactured by SRT (formerly Dodge) division of Chrysler. Although Chrysler considered ending production because of financial problems, chief executive Sergio Marchionne announced a new model of the Viper for 2013. The vehicle was unveiled at the 2012 New York Auto Show. All Vipers are V10 powered with a manual transmission. The SRT Viper GTS includes leather upholstery, accented colors in seats, doors, center console and stitching; gun metal trim on the cluster bezel.

Viper in any format would kill the street! The same is applicable to the diecast collectors too. American muscle car are very popular around the world for its butch look and sexy outlook! This SRT Viper GTS – 2013 by Maisto is a must have 1:18 scale model for any collectors who is into American Muscle because as far as I know no other diecast model manufacturers has announced this model, which is a shame.

Though a budget model by a brand that dominates the startup collectors space, the details and finish is top class. The mag wheels and the shade of it is realistic, the pattern and depth is awesome, so as the tire tread details. The head lamp lensing detail is as an other point worth mentioning. The GTS label on the side fender and hood logo details are also cool.

Being a budget model it comes with an array of flaws! Panel gaps being one and scaling being an universal issue across the brand so this is not a exception! Paint finish I feel top class.. My Red steals the show that the Black that’s available too.

The interior seems average and on par with the rest of the Special Edition series by Maisto. The door open angle is minimal and sufficient enough to reveal the interior details. The steering wheel hold the Viper Logo, which is prominent but could have been better. AC vents, pedals and instrument console are good too in terms of scale and details.

Just like the previous Dodge Vipers this STR Viper comes with a reverse swopped hood which has no issues staying up so as the bootlid. The angle of lift and hinge mechanism is designed to reveal most of its inner details. The Engine bay is nicely detailed which includes red detailing on the engine cover and sharp detailing on the piping etc.

Overall this Viper scores very good on my scale! So I am awarding a respectable 4/5 for its good looks, great pricing and smart packaging. If you have missed my previous Viper photoshoot Dodge Vipers enjoying Indian Summer which grabbed some attention too. As usual I did had some nice time around with this American Beast.. Enjoy the shoot…

    1. I’m a Vette. You’re a classic pufweorl, athletic, and competitive. You’re all about winning the race and getting the job done. While you have a practical everyday side, you get wild when anyone pushes your pedal. You hate to lose, but you hardly ever do.Interesting. because if I was buying a sports car a Vette would be it. Toured the factory last year.

    2. AH THANK YOU GUYS for yet another Wrangler story, IT HAS BEEN A LONG WEEKEND GLOOMING OVER THE “FACE” OF WHAT WAS NOT (BUT SHOULD OF BEEN) MORE LOVINGLY PAID ATTENTION TO – YES, THAT “THING” MR. MANLEY & HIS COHORTS ARE (MAY?) CALL A JEEP CHEROKEE ! GOOD-OLE WRANGLER, THAT GREAT AND WONDERFULLY ICONIC “BOX” (IN A GOOD WAY) THAT IS BEAUTIFUL IN ITS OWN SKIN AND THOUGH A BIT OBESE (needs some high tech steel tweaking, but not much more), MAKES ME YEARN FOR ONE EVERY TIME I SEE ONE – HERE THERE OR ON THE BACKROADS IN MY DREAMS ! I DO HOPE THAT IF ‘JEEP & CO.’ TRULY ARE WANTING TO EXPAND THE BRAND THEY COME TO A MORE SENSIBLE GRADUAL APPROACH – ESPECIALLY WITH THIS MODEL (WRANGLER) with its 2016 (hope only ) REFRESH. A STEP FORWARD WOULD BE TO OFFER SOME SORT OF 1 PIECE ROOF TO LESSON OR DIMINISH THE LEAKING PROBLEM ISSUE . . . AND IF THEY WERE TO MAKE A UNIBODY VERSION (WITHOUT ANY LESS OFF ROAD ABILITY), MAYBE THEY COULD MAKE THE DOOR/WINDOW IN TO ONE ! WHY? BECAUSE, SEEMS A HASSLE HAVING TO OPEN THE DOOR TO ACCESS THE WINDOW HATCH ? ? ? ONCE AGAIN I’VE DIGRESSED . . . PEACE.
