Bburago secured Ferrari license to make diecast scale model car couple of years back, since then they are keeping its diecast crafters, designer and mould makers busy by finding every possible Ferrari to add to their Ferrari lineup. The recent addition to this line up is this 70th Anniversary Celebrations Edition 488 GTB called ‘The Schumacher’, which is basically a Ferrari 488 GTB with special decal, fancy interiors and drivetrain(irrelevant for us). This diecast Ferrari is doing pretty well for a while because it was released sometime back but I wanted to bring it to your notice if you have missed it!
I usually don’t do duplicates, but I guess I will make an exception with this model as it has already stolen my heart! I already have a red “Race & Play” series Bburago Ferrari 488 GTB (checkout the unboxing here) in my collection and am itching to add this beautiful limited edition “Ferrari 488 GTB The Schumacher” in 1:18 scale. I just like every bit of this car even the box takes a special place and I would say this is the best Bburago Packaging to date!
Bburago being a budget diecast model maker, makes some very detailed car that sets bench mark in the value for money space. I believe this 70th Anniversary Ferrari 488 GTB The Schumacher will also takes a bite of that pie. Going with pics and videos (check this YouTube video by ck modelcars) floating around, the details looks so good and the details that differentiate this 488 GTB from the basic ones are given special emphasis. The huge yellow brake calipers, prominent racing strips on the roof, “70th Anniversary” badge that looks like a metal itched decal are some of those bits thats worth mentioning.
In my view, place where Bburago lags behind is its interiors department!! But its a relief here in this model as this Ferrari gets a dual tone interior and beige seats with black piping gives it a notch more interest. I do love all black interiors in real like but this black and beige combo looks sexy!
As of now carmodel.com is selling this beauty for €44.95(inclusive of VAT) and they have these 1:18 Ferrari 488GTB 70th Anniversary The Schumacher in stock. This model is marked as a Limited Edition but Bburago has not disclosed the limitation criteria so its safe to say… “It’s better safe than sorry”. So you know what I meant… get this beautiful model before they ran out. I am doing everything under power to get this model but only time will tell whether succeed or not! Keep a watch on this comment to know more. Till next time… Ciao.
