AUTOart is a premium diecast model maker and a brand who has fans following no matter what they make. They made some exceptional diecast model car like Pagani Zonda R but recently they moved to a hybrid composite construction. Though few collectors are not happy with the decision but the rest have evolved and accepted it pretty well. There has been some hits and some misses in this direction and the latest block buster news is that they are about to release Mercedes Benz G500 4×4 Squared in 1:18 scale, which in my opinion is sure shot winner.
Yes GT Spirit already has this 4×4 squared in their line-up but that is a fully sealed model and that to a resin model. Because this model follows the composite construction method the are door all opens along with trunk and boot. This opens up a lot of creative display options, the wheels are also steerable so more points as well.
Though these pics that AUTOart released in its Facebook Page are that of the pre-production sample, they look really nice and detailed. There are some obvious rough edges in this model but we are sure those would all be gone in the production version. This lime green version looks exceptionally good but we would want to see more colors (I personally want the white to run a comparison with my GT Spirit Mercedes Benz G500 4×4 squared) to give more option to us collectors.
At this point in time there is no details about the release dates or pricing point but the good news is that this will go into mass production as soon as it gets an approval from Mercedes Benz’s side. So lets hope that this makes it to our shore by this year end to enlighten our holiday. We will keep our eyes glued and let you know on any updates we get. Till then Ciao.
