I collect 1:12 bikes and 1:18 scale model cars for over 15years… My first scale model is a 1:12 Suzuki Hayabusa (photo collection here) made by Maisto and it also is my birthday gift so hold a special place in my heart. Coming back to present, Maisto is getting better and better when it comes to detailing and collection diversity. I picked a few 1:12 motorbikes from Maisto last year and posting my unboxing experience.
Announced in 2021 by Maisto, the 2021 Honda CBR 1000RR-R Fireblade SP (news coverage) and 2019 BMW R1250 GS (news coverage) are the two special 1:12 bikes that I picked last year (2022) and also got my thumbs up in my Diecast Motorbike Year 2022 post. Though these two 1:12 bike got their freedom last year, I only got time to post it today.
The BMW R1250 GS is one of the best tourer in my 1:12 collection and this newer version is cooler than older one in every ways and this Maisto 1:12 2019 BMW R1250 GS is a looker. 2021 catalogue showed us this 2019 BMW R1250 GS in its regular Maisto package and also in a branded packaging like the one we have in here. The white BMW Package is a looker and this package also gets a nice plastic base.
On the other hand 2021 Honda CBR-1000RR Fireblade SP comes in a black box with Honda branding. This new packaging raises the prices to INR.1295/- but that gets us a premium branded box, which looks great in your collection if you are a boxed collector. But I hate these boxes as they technically take away the repacking opportunity, which I used to like in those older boxes. Who know I am too old to admire these packing.
The bottom of this box has all the legal informations and a pictorial depiction of dismantling the base and model itself. The BMW R1250 GS package also gets a 3d hologram, which in my opinion is nicer than that flat logo of Honda. Barcode also finds it way here on the bottom along with Maisto logo etc.
The unboxing of these two motorcycles are almost smililar to how Harley Davidson’s 2014 Sportster Iron 883 1:12 done few years back. The only difference is that the base is not made of cardboard but a solid plastic base. I love these packages and the they have evolved a lot since day one I started collecting!
These two looks cool with or without the scale models in it… but I don’t have enough space in my house to put up with my collecting and the boxes they come in! So I have to chunk the boxes as soon as they go into the display to free up some space in my storage. But I may keep this display stand as they look cool if I decide to display them with stand.
I love these two 1:12 bike out and the getting attracted to the bright colored 2021 Honda CBR 1000RR Fireblade SP but Bimmer is no slouch for sure! If Honda is winning my heart with its crazy cool body work and shades, the German is winning me with its crazy detailings and parts that keep me interested all day long.
This 2019 BMW R1250GS by Maisto is a long over due update and I am happy that it is finally here. I have the older BMW R1200GS (full review here) made long time back and and I guess I am still in love with it! So there is a good chance that I will do a comparison with that one, so hold on!
This 1:12 scale BMW R1250GS is a good scale model, has lot of good details that could keep my triggered finger happy as I could click so many beautiful photos indoor and outdoor. The yellow spoked wheels in this bimmer is cooler and tri-color paint scheme could get this win beauty contest for tourers for sure.
I have so many Honda CBRs (by Newray, Maisto and even Automaxx) and always like the newer one and this 2021 Honda CBR 1000RR Fireblade SP is no different as this looks the hottest in SP livery. This is not a review so I don’t want to get deeper but some details jump at you when you open up this beauty.
The paint details on this 2021 Honda CBR 1000RR Fireblade SP is top class and very detailed on first look. You can’t miss that crazy Akrapovic exhaust, which stands out! Yeah it is so sharp, you could make out the Akrapovic logo from far off in any display case.
If pegged side by side, the BMW looks a bit off proportion as it is a menacing tourer even next to CBR! This is an issue with most Maisto and this BMW might fall into this category, only full review will say, which is on your way. The full review of both these motorbikes is coming soon and also planning a comparison with other scale model carrying same badges and more! Do let us know, what else you are looking to see in our website in the further. Till next time, Ciao.
