Maisto is a diecast scale model brand that makes value for money diecast scale models in 1:18, 1:24, 1:43, 1:32 and 1:64. They make toys and also collector grade scale models that don’t caters to beginners and some seasoned collectors. Maisto recently unveiled its 2025 catalogue with quite an impressive collection in 1:18 scale (our favourite scale for cars) and one that got our attention is this Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS (992.2) under “Special Edition” series. This is one cool car because from Porsche as we don’t that many targa version of cars now a days. Here is our full coverage of this beautiful Porsche.
Being a special edition series car not a signature series (which surprisingly is missing, maybe discontinued due to lack of demand for it) will come at an affordable price, so that is one other reason to celebrate this Porsche. As per the catalogue, this Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS (992.2) will come in two colours(metallic green and yellow) and the note also say “*Styles and color are subject to change” so what other would you be interested in seeing this Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS (992.2)? Comment below, mine is always this metallic green, which is nice and new.
This 1:18 Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS (992.2) should come with opening doors, working suspensions and openable hood and engine cover at the rear (which may or may not show up as this is a mid engine car). This already is a beautiful car being a Porsche but gets a bit of nicer look with it open targa top. What we could expect more from this Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS (992.2) is a openable targa top like few other premium brands.
Unlike its predecessors, this Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS (992.2) don’t get an aluminium finished targa frame but gets a blackened finish, which makes it far more cooler that ever! The blacken treatment continues to the wheels and also to the optics front and black, which especially looks good in this metallic green. And the same blacken treatment will give meaner look in other darker colours if Maisto decides to do.
At this point we don’t have that much details to come to a conclusion on delivery date or price point but going what Maisto as done in the past, we could expect something similar to other Maisto Special Edition cars in price bracket of USD.43 and some vendors are accepting pre-orders like www.3000toys.com with the amount of buzz going around this 1:18 Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS (992.2), we could see this sooner than expected, which could be as early as Q2 2025. We will keep you posted on further update on this Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS (992.2) from Maisto’s end or vendors, so stay tuned. Till next time… Ciao.
